The pandemic has accelerated the growth in online sales. But whilst the pandemic has forced consumers to shop online, we only have to look at recent research published by the Office for National Statistics to remind ourselves that this is not a new phenomena and that online sales are growing YOY, reaching a non-lockdown high of 31.4% in June 2020.
This sharp rise in online sales is set to stick around too as a new study by leading eCommerce platform Shopify has revealed. Leading retail brands have found that 48.8% of shoppers will now regularly purchase and discover new goods online as a result of their experience in 2020.
ShowShoppa, the marketplace platform for event organisers, have been busy building shops to meet these changes in buying behaviour and strengthen event brands trading in 2021. See below:
Clarion successfully launched Spirit of Christmas Shop to tens of thousands of event visitors and featuring over 3,000 products from hundreds of exhibitors successfully tapping into the £80bn Christmas retail market.
Media 10 launched the first shop during the pandemic creating a place where visitors loyal to the UK’s biggest B2C show can find inspiration and stay connected to the brand. 15% of all furniture and homeware sales are now online.
The UK’s largest country fair has launched an impressive shop selling hundreds of products to eager country pursuit fans of the show. The shop features everything from fashion to gifts; the perfect compliment to the event brand.
Media 10’s Cake and Bake Shop has taken full advantage of the explosion in home baking sales and baking related goods in 2020. The shop sells everything from cake mixes (up 137% YOY, 2020) to cookware and decorations.
One of the largest Northern art fairs, Manchester Art Fair, has launched EASEL Shop featuring hundreds of works by artists as global online art sales are set to rise to £6bn by 2024.
More event branded shops for 2021 to be announced shortly.
