The pandemic has fast forwarded the use of digital interaction by at least 20 years. Virtual events have sprung up around the world and now the talk is of hybrid events – part digital part face to face. This will not be a transitional phase – this will be the future. The digital footprint of an event will be part of the successful event organisers plans for the year. Soon we will see face to face events return and be more experience orientated whilst the virtual events will increase in frequency but strengthen the year round engagement of the visitors and exhibitors. We could see some really positive outcomes for event organisers that adopt the new blueprint.
